Trail Condition 2/10/2008

Out riding Sunday on the Barnstormer's Trail System, along with four other club members, we found the trails, overall, to be good to very good. Early on we found the trails to be excellent, but with increased snowmobile traffic the trails became bumpy, but with a little groomer management, the trails will become excellent. One groomer was out from Tripoli Road, doing the best he could with the light equipment he was aboard. There were quite a few other members out riding & enjoying the day. We left from Hadlock Lake, picked up C4 to S16 then made our way down to the canal, past Tim Haven's place (Notra Dame Extension). All the wet spots were frozen over, the only spot one should be careful is getting on the canal, ROCKS. At that time the Hartford trails were still closed. We got back off the Canal at Baldwin Corner, made our way down to Wayside, coming in by the back way WC26 & 28. We backtracked to Manley's Restaurant for dinner, then back to Hadlock. For the day we got in about 40 miles & had a good time. During the day we even got ourselves into a Whiteout, where you could only just about see the tail light of the sled in-front of you, but with a trails being well marked we never lost site of the trail.
The Weatherman has predicted a major snow storm this Tuesday into Wednesday, with the help of our groomers getting out early, before the storm, the trails will be the best ever going into the President's Weekend. See you on the trails.
